Soya Doc

Soya de-oiled cake (DOC) is a by-product obtained after the extraction of oil from soybeans. It is widely used in the feed industry due to its high protein content and nutritional value. Here are some key points about soya de-oiled cake:

Production Process

  1. Soybean Crushing: Soybeans are cleaned, cracked, and de-hulled.
  2. Oil Extraction: The cracked soybeans are then processed to extract oil, typically using solvent extraction methods.
  3. De-oiled Cake: After the oil is extracted, the remaining solid residue is called soya de-oiled cake. This cake is then toasted to reduce anti-nutritional factors.

Nutritional Composition
  • Protein Content: High, typically around 44-50%, making it an excellent source of protein for animal feeds.
  • Fiber: Moderate level of fiber content.
  • Fat: Very low fat content, usually less than 1%.
  • Amino Acids: Rich in essential amino acids like lysine and methionine.

Uses
  1. Animal Feed: Primarily used as a protein supplement in livestock, poultry, and aquaculture feeds.
  2. Organic Fertilizer: Sometimes used as a natural fertilizer due to its nutrient content.

Benefits
  • Cost-Effective: Provides a cheaper alternative to other protein sources.
  • Nutritional Value: Enhances the growth and productivity of animals.
  • Sustainable: Utilizes by-products of soybean oil extraction, contributing to waste reduction.
